Needs bigger supply cable, otherwise reasonable.

This inverter does what is says it does. You may need to use more heavy duty cable connections as the ones supplied begin to warm up at about 150w. At that point I replaced them with 60amp cable and have tested to 500w continuous for an hour without issue. The inverter I received tested 0.72amp draw when off and 1.65amp draw when on with no load at 12.5v supply. This is a bit higher than expected. My only real complaint is the cooling fan runs non stop and is pretty loud. I do recommend this inverter but be aware of the high standby power usage, I’d suggest an isolator switch for it where connected to batteries in a permanent mounted location. Does not come with any sort of mounts.

    Underperformed

This little inverter is advertised as putting out a continuous 600 Watts but would be lucky to put out half of this. I purchased this to supply power to my Milwaukee 3 bay rapid charger which requires 480 Watts max when charging 3 batteries at once. Placing one on charge was fine but as soon as a second battery was placed on charge it began cutting out and restarting. As each battery on charge would use a third of the 480 Watts the charger requires, each battery would use 160 Watts so this was putting out somewhere in between 160 and 320 Watts. Can't speak to the quality of the sine wave as I don't own an oscilloscope. This is a very cheap unit and also very light weight so depending on what you wanted to use it for it could still be a reasonable purchase. But if the sine wave is not pure sine wave as advertised then you should be careful with plugging in sensitive electronics.

  • not at all suited for strong power input.

it can't handle a strong input that is sufficient to run any device for a decent amount of time. before purchase, it may look like it's a powerful inverter, but once it arrives you will find in the instructions that it has very limited use. it is well built, and does work well within its limitations, so if you're looking for something light to run off a tiny battery, this product is for you.

  • No-load current a little too high, but within spec.

Not bad for a budget inverter, does the job, but the no-load current draw of 0.92A is on the high end of their claimed "Static current: 0.5-1A". If your inverter is permanently connected to batteries then you may be better off with ones that draw 0.3-0.4A unloaded.

  • Mostly ok - supply cables let it down

Works fine as long as you use heavier gauge supply cables from battery. I bought it to power a 500w milk frother and other smaller appliances. With the supplied cables from the battery, the inverter gave a warning and then cut out. I noticed the cables were warm. I upgraded them with thicker cables and it works fine.

  • Reasonable and well priced

The inverter seems fine, although I have not yet put it to use, When I ordered I did not realise that there are no mounting tabs to secure the unit an as it is for use in a caravan this is a problem for me. Service and price from the supplier both good

  • Giantz 600/1200 W sine wave inverter

Just got this 600W sine wave inverter to run my computer whilst Grey Nomading, but it was so cheap compared to the opposition, that I bought a bit of spare capacity. Looks to be well made and also has a USB connection. Seems to run my Laptop OK and an electric razor too, so that's a bonus. Happy as a pig in muck!

  • Giantz pure sign wave inverters are some of the best.

These Giantz pure sine wave inverters are some of the best. I also have the Giantz 3000W/6000W peak unit for heavy duty off grid operation & bought this smaller 600W/1200W to use when free camping in the caravan. OzPlaza are excellent people to deal with. Can highly recommend.

  • Quality, performance and price are right

Delivers what it promises. I ran a 400 watt heater for a while, and 800 till it cut out. switched it on and no problems. Produces nice clean 240 volts that runs my LCD screen/Tv, audio amp, strip light, computer and fan in my LPG heater. No hesitation to recommending to my friends

  • Works but noisy fan

Good form factor and works well but fan is quite noisy and cuts in often.. i have the 300w version and that does a better job with fewer fan cut-ins, at a lower watt output.
