    Idiot-proof

Nothing overly complicated about this thing . . . pull the battery saver tab, push the button, and if you are dealing with the right Canon camera (and I was), it works, period. The case that it comes with attaches nicely to the existing camera strap, so in just a very few minutes, I had a new capability for my camera that I need when taking tripod photos. I take photos in archive vaults where flash photography is not allowed, so the tripod is very necessary. The less I touch the camera as I am taking assembly line photos, the better. This fits the bill, letting me take photos without ever physically touching the camera, potentially screwing up centering or focus. Great gizmo for what it does.

The remote is smaller and different than the picture shows. It seems to work if I leave the battery out for a long time before I use it. Otherwise it doesn't work at all. It definitely isn't a Canon product, but it sometimes works.

  • Works great for remote shooting on my M3

I like to take pictures of wildlife with a zoom lens, but camera shake is a problem with long focal lengths -- using the remote to fire the shutter eliminates that problem. This remote works well. Being able to attach the case to the camera strap is a nice touch. I have two minor issues with it: - the adhesive for the label is weak, mine was already lifting - removing the battery is tricky; fortunately, I don't think it will have to be done often

  • A good remote with one minor issue

The Canon RC-6 wireless remote control works good with my Canon 80D. The only quirk I could find about the remote is, it some how drained my brand new battery within a couple of months of install and very little use. I will be monitoring it more often with the second new battery in hopes this isn't a flaw with the Canon RC-6 remote.

  • I love it when things work!

I have have been an avid Canon user for a few decades now. A few years ago I set down the .35mm film camera and got a XTi 400D that has served me well for thousands of photos. I wanted to set it up to take some before, during, and after shots as I work on my old motorcycle and needed the convenience of a hands-off shutter trigger. This RC6 is exactly that. It came with a battery installed and all I needed to do was pull the battery insulator and the remote was ready. The most difficult part was remembering how to set up the camera to work with the remote. Once I had that down, it was point remote and shoot photos. It is small and if there was anything it needs it would be a lanyard to make it easier to hold and keep up during use.

  • Works great with my Canon M3

Great inexpensive option to take photos and not worry about the camera having any shake. I turned on the remote selection on camera, pulled the plastic from the battery on remote and started taking pictures. It took me longer to walk to my mail box than it did to start using it. Very easy and awesome!

  • A necessary item in your camera bag

I like these small remotes, they work with my 60D, 80D and my new R5. I use them a lot while shooting astrophotography.

  • it arrived on time and brand new as advertised.

The remote works as intended, really comes in handy when needed.

  • No truth in advertising here! More tuition paid to the frauds. I won't be taking this class again!

If it was actually a Canon RC-6 Remote, it no doubt would work better. However it is not a Canon product at all! It doesn't say Canon RC-6 anywhere on it. Instead it simply says 'For Canon' and although amazingly it does work, it only works at about a quarter of the range advertised and changing the battery was not a smooth operation at all. Lastly, it had no case as advertised and it states that it was 'Made in China". No I'm not prejudiced, but this thing is cheesy.
