  • nice to be able to change out so easily.

Every so often, computer designers do something good and even great. I've been a fan of Dell for many years, even decades. I've loved that their electrical cord was designed the same for all their desktops and monitors, no need for specific designs for each model. And also how the computer industry designed USB's to have similar ports, rather than each brand having their own design. This is another one of those times, when the CPU can be changed out with a few screws removed from the fan, and then change out the CPU as if they're changing into a different kind of slippers for their feet. I really expected something much more devious, just to make sure that average Joe couldn't do it. But it's just a bit more tedious than changing out a CD or DVD from the player. Great thanks to the designers for the simplicity of changing it out. Once the chip is exposed, you merely unhook the security bar, pull it back, and it allows the chip to be removed. Installation is just as easy, altho' you want to check the chip that it is securely placed and does not slip around, which means it's not placed properly. Would have been even neater if there'd been some small pins on each corner that would fit into 4 equally small holes, to help seat the chip easier. But once it's set in there, you merely replace the metal framework by raising the bar and hinge it in. When turned on, windows comes up as if nothing has ever changed, it doesn't even give you warnings about "Your CPU has changed!! Press F1 to continue", etc, etc. The Windows 7 booted right up and system check showed the new i7 chip purring pleasantly. About as effortlessly as can be expected. I've taken this older Dell laptop from i3 to i5, and then on up to i7, with no other changes to its parts. But then, I don't do heavy gaming or intense surfing. I use a computer at about its lowest level. But the i7 chip is nice to have, because pages load about in seemingly milliseconds rather than seconds. I probably would have been satisfied with just the i5 chip. But I decided to spend the extra $100 to try it, and I'm satisfied with the results. And of course, downloads go at nearly warp speed. Wonderful. Being a middle aged 66 yr old guy who learned all his computer stuff merely by trying things and reading, I did study up on the different chips, found the correct model, and ebay helped greatly with that. You have to read the ads to be sure you're getting the correct chip, but if you have the chance to upgrade your computer, I"d recommend you do it. Mine experience was quite easy. I"m very glad I did it. Nice to have top of the line power in your computer for just a little bit of expense.

  • Easy to install and super fast processing speed!

Excellent - easy to install (purchased thermal paste separately), and it is super fast compared to the i3 processor the PC had before.

  • IntelCore i7-2600 3.4Ghz SR00B Processor

Wanted to upgrade from my i5 processor for the socket 1155. This was a third of the original cost for this i7. I'm satisfied now 4 cores each with hyper threading also. I'm not a gamer but I run multiple video and audio programs and can use all the computing power that's available. Thanks

  • Intel Core i7-2600 3.4Ghz SR00B

Since I've received this CPU, it runs incredibly well. Upon installing, running a few stress tests everything about it is solid. I mainly use my pc for Gaming and was far overdue for an upgrade. I haven't had any issues what so ever for the past 2 weeks or so. Overall very worth for the price. The payment was fast and easy as well as the shipping. Definitely recommend if you're looking to build or upgrade your Pc.

  • Solid cpu

Its not the best cpu available on the market but it is the best available for my lga 1155 Dell. Works fine, installation was easy enough, good price for a used cpu and was clean. Great performance considering it's older hardware.

  • i7

It's an i7 2nd Generation CPU with old hardware; therefore, can't make an honest review. It work just fine. No problem with over heating in an ITX PC case. Price is good for a 4/8 C/P CPU. No problem with performance or lagging. CPU did not go in an ATX mobo setup; therefore, can only say it work. Able to upgrade memory and replace HDD having no problems. Went from a dual core Pentium to an i7-2600 using same motherboard and heatsink. Very quiet after six (6) straight hours of online streaming.

  • Best chip for HP Compaq 8200 Elite Small Form Factor PC

This is the highest performing chip you can install on the HP Compaq 8200 Elite Small Form Factor PC according to their website. So, I would follow their recommendation. The temperature is lower when running applications. There is almost no lag when running multiple programs at the same time. In other words, it performs better than the i5-2500.

  • Great for a medium range gaming PC

I purchased this for my gaming pc and have tested its capability to handle 150 bots on the battlefield and it does so without a stutter. I play a lot of first person shooters and I enjoy ones I can add bots to. My i5 could only handle 120 bots on the field in Verdun/Tannenberg whereas this i7 can handle 150 no problem. I've pushed it a little harder to 160 and 170 bots and it starts to stutter then, so I keep it at 150 bots. Games like Arma 2 and 3 had terrible slowdown on missions I made with lots of bots (up to 200) and this i7 handles those missions without any blurring or dragging frame rates.

  • Old CPU, Great Performance

I bought this CPU to upgrade my old Lenovo ThinkCentre for gaming. For its price, it has amazing performance for just what I want it to. One of the best investments I could’ve made for my PC.
