    Great ‘Phones!

Although I haven’t had much experience with good headphones, these do the trick. They sound great to me and fit well (stay on your head when you move around.) I also like that the 1/4” adapter tip screws on to the 1/8” tip for a secure connection. I do find that, after a while, they get a little warm on the ears, but I imagine that’s just a function of how well they seal off external sound, i.e.- closed-back design.

    Good sounds but very uncomfortable

I bought these to replace a pair of Sony Pro headphones I had. They sound great but I don’t think I’m gonna be able to hang with these because they are very tight on my head and make my ears sweat and they push up against your temples. My head is not one of those big round hats either so the fact that these are tight on me it’s not a good sign. They’re not really well constructed either. Complete plastic parts in the shape of them forces you to open them wide to put them on your head so they press down hard. Like I said, my ears start sweating after listening to three songs and then not comfortable. It’s sad because I’m trying to make them work because the sound is so good

  • Never disappointed with Sennheiser products

Once again I purchased another Sennheiser product and once again I am very pleased that I did. Oh yes I may have paid a little more for it but in the end this is a very good product as are all the SENNHEISER products I have purchased tru the years. The bass is there as well as the high's and mid tones on the HD 280 headphones. I compaired several different kinds @ different prices and I kept going back to Sennheiser HD280. I would recommend this headphone to anyone for whatever they are doing. This model is not wireless as this was not an issue for me in a recording studio. Sennheiser makes wireless headphones if that is what you need. This review is about quality of sound and product. It is my opinion as a musician and recording engineer that the sound quality would be hard to beet as would the quality of the product it's self. Headphones can take a beating in a studio or on stage and all of my Sennheiser products have held up very well with sound that is extremely impressive. The Sennheiser HD 280 sounds better than I expected. They are comfortable I wear these 4 to 6 hours @ a time and other than a readjustment are very comfortable. The padding is soft , the headphones are not too heavy. I couldn't be more pleased with the Sennheiser HD 280. They are collapsible for easy packing and they come with 1/4 and 1/8 inch plug so I can plug them into my computer or into the audio interface which is very convenient. I have had other brands of head phones but they do not compare to the Sennheiser HD 280.

  • These headphones have the most amazing sound!

These headphones have the most amazing sound! They do beautiful justice to all ranges. I was afraid the bass would be muddy, but that hasn't been the case. They rest comfortably on my head, do not feel tight at all. They truly block out a lot of sound, so prepare to get lost in them for hours! I've owned the Senn's HD497 for about 15 yrs now and they have always been my "go to", but these 280's are nudging them out for favorite. I've seen comments about tightness. Personally, (maybe thanks to my small head), I can't report any discomfort with these whereas my old pair would make my ears achey after an hr or two. It's a relief to say these haven't done that! Only once, my left ear was feeling sore, but I readjusted them on my head & they were fine again. You gotta find that 'sweet spot'. I'll return with an 'update' review once I've gotten some proper usage out of these as I've read they take about 200 hrs to burn in. Although, I can't imagine these sounding any better than they already do! Go ahead and get yourself these if you've been debating on them. For the price they are listing at now, it's a proper deal and you won't be disappointed.

  • Light weight with great features.

Your headphones out performed all other headphones that were tested. The first 4 sets went over so well, another 2 sets were ordered. You would have a hard time matching their performance for a price anywhere near their cost. Most of the commercial radio stations in this area use them.

  • Great sound but very tight fit

My first impression is that the sound quality is great for a $100 headphone. The EQ seems a little flat in the upper midrange to high frequencies. Not too excessive bass but that’s a good thing. The noise isolation is one of the best in its class but that is probably a result of the closed back and high clamping force. My only grouse is the comfort. This headphone clamps over the ears very tightly. My temples are very sensitive and this hurts my head after only a couple minutes. It is however lightweight enough and the padded headband rests comfortably on the top of my head.

  • Sennheiser HD 280 Pro

I'm writing this review as I'm listening to this headphones. The reviews I read before purchasing these talked about sound separation it's outstanding. They talked about sound pressure definitely there. Noise Attenuation blocks almost outside noise. Very accurate highs mids and taunt bass. Tried with my Galaxy smartphone sound good. I mainly use them for listening to cd's off my onkyo receiver headphone jack amazing sound. Very well built solid headphones I'm super glad that I purchased these.

  • The Only Problem is with me, not the Headphones

I did not realize when I ordered these headphones that they were folding, and that was totally an oversight on my part. I do not do well with folding headphones because they pinch my ears and after a period of time, they give me a headache. These are great headphones and the sound is excellent. They are lightweight and very nice. I would recommend them to anyone who wants great sound and does not have difficulties with folding headphones.

  • Great Value for the Money..!!

These headphones are lightweight, the earcups fit entirely over my big ears, the headband feels good and the sound is brilliant and flat across the spectrum. These headphones are NOT made for recreational listening, unless you like to hear exactly what the microphones picked up during the recording session. They are excellent for Studio monitoring/mixing and Ham radio applications. I also have a pair of Audio Technica ATH-M20X headphones that are good phones, but in comparison, the Sennheisers are more sensitive and have a cleaner and clearer sound.

  • Good for mixing audio, not as good for long hours

Nice flat response for mixing audio and catching any potentially annoying sounds. Only real complaint is that these don't feel very good to wear for hours at a time. If I have them at any setting other than the tightest they can get, the ear muffs wind up sitting on my jaw instead of my ears, but when they're tight they make my ears a bit sore if they're not in just the right spot.
