Refreshing
I bought this for two reasons- I had a leak recently and wanted to try and get rid of the smell of mould, and I get hay fever. It definitely seems to have helped with both. I’m not sure it’s very effective at getting rid of cooking smells though. It’s light and portable so I can easily move it from room to room if I want to. The air seems fresher too, especially with the ioniser on. On the first and second settings it’s quiet, but noisier on the most powerful. But be warned - the settings are very intuitive - so intuitive that I didn’t bother to read the instructions for a couple of days, puzzled why it didn’t seem to be working. Not bad .
I would not say that it clears smells. My wife smokes and it struggles to clear it on 1-2 setting 3 is best but noisy . You can run it on night mode but in my opinion it’s not doing much just ticking over , needs to be on 3 all the time to feel any significant difference. Filters £30 a pop so hopefully last 6 months before changing but I feel running on higher settings you filter will block up much quicker. Good value but when you think about it it’s only a fan and filter bit like a hoover but cheaper to run . It said in manual must be 300 mill or 12 “ from wall . Just turn it around filter outside then you can stand it closer . I run this on 3 for 2 hrs in my bedroom before bedtime and then I switch it down to night mode .Verified purchase: YesCondition: New

A breathe of fresh air.
The Pure Mate 5- in-1 Air Purifier made such a difference to the air quality in my home. Where the filter system pulls the ion saturated dust particles from the air, you can tell the difference when you return to that room - the air is so charged with freshness, it's unbelievable. There are 3 filters that scoure the air going- in, before the air is sent packing on-it's way back out again, fresh, as the proverbial daisy!. The countdown timer is a nice touch, from 1hr, 2hr, 4hr increments until it switches off, or can be set to turn it-on in the same manner!. If you want to have the unit run for a time in the bedroom at night - as you settle dow n, i.e 1hr, but don't want the lights of the unit showing, Press the sleep button, the units lights go off, so no glare!, but!...nice cool fresh air while you sleep. The ioniser will clean the air dust, pollen, bacteria and viruses, all of which can all be detrimental to your health. I've tried a few air purifiers, but this one is excellent, it's really clears the air & I'm a heavy smoker, it's very quiet but on highest setting it's noticeable but not over bearing, it's much cheaper than usual large-ish purifiers too, due to smoke rising I've placed it on top of a dining table for best results I've also got the extractor fan facing source of smoke, this specific purifier has a large room capacity, but be aware it's not to clear the whole house, I've got mini purifiers in other rooms for this, but I can honestly say this one does the main job very well, I'm very, very happy I got it as it's needed during winter months, highly recommend!!!!Verified purchase: YesCondition: New
