Epson EcoTank ET-3843, very satisfied
Before buying the Epson EcoTank ET-3843, I did quite bit of research of source reviews. For me, the ink tank feature was my #1 attraction.
My previous AIO printer was a Canon Maxify MB2120. Before I trash the Canon printer, let me lead with the fact it printed, scanned, single-sided, double-sided, everything every which way was supported very well. The Canon connected to my LAN via WiFi primarily - or USB, no ethernet - AND it's expensive ink cartridges would clog/dry-up if you don't print at least every few days. As my pattern is right now, I mainly used the old printer for scanning, not so much printing. Before I could actually use up the ink cartridges, or even 1 cartridge in the 4, some cartridge would fail due to non-use. I was paying $50-$60 most every time I needed to print 1 or a few pages! I told Canon off many times. Their only defense was that the printer was better intended for a small bisiness. That of course was NEVER made clear when I bought it. If I can manage to NOT buy a Cannon prodiuct hereafter, I will sure try to. Have a nice business future, Canon, in my dust. I hold grudges.
Back to the Epson EcoTank ET-3843: I am so pleased with most everything about this machine. I did review the specs ahead of purchase. I read that the scanner did not support double-sided scanning, and I confirm that is a fact now that I've worked with it, but at least it supports double-sided printing. Printing is excellent, scanning is better than I've known before in a home machine and is more clever and almost AI-level in its automatic adjustments, just no double-sided scanning. A loss to be sure, but in balance, this is a better AOI printer/scanner than I've experienced outside of a large business system. Both thumbs up!
