Fun Movie, Good Acting, With One Caveat
The movie is fun, entertaining, has good acting, and a good movie story. Remember though, it's a theatrical movie so it's not historically accurate. The drug issue in the film is way overstated and casts the CIA and the pilots in a pretty negative light. Credit to the DVD producer though for including a counterpoint to that part of the story. In the special extra feature covering the making of the movie there's some very strong counter commentary by William M Leary, an aviation historian, who strongly disputes the common view that the CIA was directly involved in heroin distribution during the Vietnam/Laos wars.Did we have to deal with some very unsavory characters in those days (like we still have to now)? Of course. But in reality, that was very overstated in the movie.So, five stars recommendation for a very fun and entertaining film (with a great soundtrack), but a lower score for the historical inaccuracy of it. After you have fun watching it (which I did) remember that there were a lot of American heroes who fought, and flew, in those wars.Verified purchase: YesCondition: Pre-owned

A great comedy. I was stationed in Vietnam and we saw "Air America" aircraft all over the place and every one knew that it was owned and operated by the CIA.
