Sophie's Choice could only have been portrayed by Meryl Streep. As a mother forced to make a brutal choice, Sophie later finds choice reappears.
This film brings us the Holocaust experience at the level of just one victim. The portrayals of the two men who love and try to redeem Sophie from her tragedy were totally immersive.
