I'm not strictly a fan of David Arnold, but I enjoyed his work on "Independence Day" and "Godzilla." I only really bought his score for "Stargate" for one track ("Mastradge Drag") because I remember hearing it in a couple of movie trailers. I would've downloaded it from Amazon had it been available on digital, but I digress somewhat.
I listened to the entirety of his score for "Stargate", and I thought it was great! Certainly something I'd enjoy listening to when the time allows. Plus, I found another track ("Going Home") that was used in a movie trailer!
Having liked the movie I thoroughly enjoy the music. Stargates SG1 fans will recognize that some of the music was also used in the pilot of the show. I highly recommend this CD to all Stargate fans!
I love the main theme because it is lyrical and brillant in a John williams-esque way at the same time! The sound is flawless and sharp and the cd is getting better each time i hear it! The rest of the score is a little bit boring and uninspired so i think mr Arnold could have done better to outdone himself!
