Classic Anime Yumminess
Growing up watching anime, this series solidified the genre with its classic motifs, plot lines, art style, and animation. The music is memorable, the characters are quirky and funny. The premise is solid, however the creators didn't stick to a tight regiment with regards to the overall point. After seeing this series again, I've come to feel that the series is less about the overall point, and more about the development of the characters and their interaction. Like other anime within the 'harem' genre (Love Hina comes to mind), this original Tenchi Muyo OVA is one of those series that defined a genre which has evolved into many other facets of the harem series genre. If you like classic anime and would like to see a series that basically began it all (for the American audience), Tenchi Muyo - Ryo-Ohki OVA is what you're looking for.
