This is a case where the VHS version is actually superior to the DVD versions issued by the same company. If you really need one of the ADV DVDs, get the one that comes with a soundtrack CD because the other version gives you absolutely nothing over this VHS, not even different artwork. I have two versions of the tape, the other one has red flame instead of purple background. There might be other variations. Opt instead for the Media Blasters DVD edition, I recommend "Godzilla Stomp Box". Speaking of bonus soundtrack CDs, there is a Japanese version of Final Wars that comes with a soundtrack CD but my version is missing that disc. I can't find any information about that particular DVD... Oh well. This is one of the easier Godzilla movies to collect in that it has only appeared in one VHS edition and two DVD editions in the US. Each of the two DVD editions have been issued twice, and one of those issues has a rare alternate version, but still. As to the movie itself, standard fare following on from Monster Zero/Astro-Monster, with a monster bash at the end being announced like a sporting event. Fun stuff.
