A movie that bridges the decades
It has really held up well! Its not as much a kids' movie as it is a movie about being a kid, being an outcast, and the flawed adults running the show. It has moments of hilariousness and authenticity. You'll recognize all the classic personalities from your youth: the fat kid, the nerd, shy kid, the tomboy, the tough guy, the fighter...... The characters are treated with respect, and as someone who grew up in the era, the nostalgia of the arcade, the old bikes, the old alcoholic pool cleaner driving around with an open cooler in the back seat......
