The GG1, one of the PRR's most famous and recognizable locomotives, is also one of the most curiously designed. Designed in the 20's, built in 30's, and not retired until the 80's, the GG1 had an incredible lifespan (even when they were cut in two and run as GG's).
When I purchased this loco, I was a little worried on the quality, since it wasn't a Spectrum or Plus from Bachmann. But I was pleasantly surprised. It runs very smoothly and the sound is very accurate and authentic. I would recommend this loco. It's a great value for a quality loco!
this engine is not the best looking engine I have but I believe it is the most powerful. I have it on my 22 radius layout pulling 26 freight cars easily. sound is good, all functions are great. what sold me was the price, $115 for a dcc w/sound is fantastic. Only problem is how many engines are too much? O well.
