It's good, but not THAT good
Hard-wired the Mini 0805 to the accessories switch and drove 3000km before I tried to view the footage. The device loads a viewer onto the SD card but on its own it's useless. It works in conjunction with QuickTime which I had to download as it was a new computer. No big deal. Going to the "community" for help forwarned me that it would take a long time to load all the files into the viewer. Long is an understatement. I found it better to copy the whole SD card to the HDD. Once all the video files are in the player's playlist it became obvious that the GPS files for many of the video files were unavailable - why? Further, many video files would not play. Too bad if that happened when you really needed the recording. The Mini 0805 itself has some issues as well. It would probably help if a really good user's manual was available for download. That said, I'm pretty savvy with today's technology but when it's not recording when it should be for no apparent reason... I'd love to know why. When it chimes while I'm driving along... I'd like to know what that means. Why did the time change? When you select "default" does that mean your current selections become the default or do your current selections get replaced by some default selections?
I do like its compact design and when both the video and GPS files are good, the viewer's display is very informative. I'm sure I'll like my purchase more as I become more familiar with its use. I'm hoping I don't rely on it in court in the mean time.
