We have lift off ππ€π€
Beautifully raw , primal sounding , blues-tinged proto-stoner rock that has aged so much better than many of its contemporaries ; indeed , it sounds infinitely superior to what UFO were doing only 10 years later .
Bass heavy (ππππ€π€) , no-frills production and totally better for it . Pete Way and Andy Parker are the stars here , a terrific , relentless, battering rhythm section whose groove is most definitely the village blacksmith without any poncey pretensions to "art" or "sensitivity" ; these guys came to rock and achieved their mission .
Guitar duties are handled by the frankly hideously underrated Mick Bolton . He was leaving tasty licks and riffs wherever he sat down , they were just falling out of him like he couldn't help himself .
My most -played album of the week !
