    Great for weak signal area

I bought this to replace a more expensive aerial which wasn’t giving a good reception on my portable in the spare room. The price was pretty reasonable so I thought why not give it a go. The aerial arrived very quickly and required some assembly. This was a bit tricky at first but once I realised I wasn’t going to break the pieces by bending them it was pretty easy. I like the f type connector so you don’t have to take it apart to make the connection. everything you need is in the box, can’t fault it at the price. Took about 1/2 hour to build and rig up (I was connecting to my existing cable) then re-tuned the telly and got almost twice as many stations .... and no pixelation. Job done. Delighted.

  • Top critical review

The aerial generally works ok but flimsy

The aerial generally works ok but flimsy and when its windy the signal tends to break up.As this was for a summer house i was not going to go for an expensive aerial but if i had to buy another i would have gone for a bigger one. I think that in a good signal area it would be fine. All in all you get what you pay for

  • Great kit. Worth every penny.

A good kit, delivered next day! Exellent service from the sellers... The ariel is easy to put together and comes with simple instructions. took about 10 minutes to build up. Seems a solid kit.. the fins can be bent easily, but are simple to straighten. I installed the arial into the loft using the included bracket by simply screwing it to a vertical rafter. great reception on all the tvs (the ariel is feeding a 6 way splitter) with clear, strong, uninterrupted signals. For the price I dont think this can be beaten!

  • Good aerial, great value , has all the fittings for installation, quick delivery

Managed to assemble this Aerial easily enough, little tip, use some vaseline to get the fins to clip in, makes it a lot easier, other than that all the fitments that came with it were fine, aprt from the pole which had no instruction, on the best way to mount it. Got the aerial assembled and installed eventually, and am getting great reception, and once connected to a Freeview box, got over 150 channels incl radio. Good piece of kit, but could do with some more instruction, as previously mentioned.

  • light weight and capable aerial

this is a self assembly aerial, consisting of two reflector units(pre assembled, six elements apiece) and nine director units (pre assembled,4 elements per unit).the director units are formed from two aluminium pressings which are very easily damaged due to the thin nature of the aluminium. The plastic saddle has an excess of flash which if not removed makes the fitting to the main bar very difficult.(I found removing the aluminium pressings from the saddles , then dressing the saddles and fitting to the main bar the easiest way of avoiding bending the pressings, finally refitting the pressings). I installed the aerial in a loft (indoor) location and the performance is excellent plus the aerial is protected from the weather(high winds being of concern. The kit overall is great value and comprehensive(cable clips, coax connectors,rg9 coaxial cable mounting arm and rawl bolts)

  • A good Ariel.

After having a solid roof fitted to my conseratory the ariel in the roof was not good enough to supply a strong signal. I looked at the web and found the Freeview TV Ariel 48 Install Kit 5G ariel. I check the spec. it was good, the price was very good so I ordered it. I received in a short time, quickly assembled it and climbed up my ladder to fix it. One snag the holding bolts for the ariel to the wall bracket had undersized threads, so when I tightend then they jumped threads. Fortuan atley I have ample stock in my garage and found 2 boths that were perfect. Aligned the ariel and lo and behold a very strong signal.fo my TV. Later we had some very windy weather and the ariel passed the test. I a very pleased with my purchase.

  • Good price, great reception.

Although we have cable television as we had just brought a new one with Freeview play I decided this needed a new aerial as the old one, not used for years and definitely not digital, needed replacing. This was good choice and does a great job with plenty of channels available. On assembly, yes the vaseline or similar grease would be a great help but the rest is easy. I don't think that my house is bigger than any others, it's mid terraced, but I did find that the cable supplied was a little short and only just reached the point where it would go through the wall into the house. This was in a straight line down the roof and straight down the wall, no deviations. I got around this by using a splitter on the cable fed into an upstairs room, this also allows an aerial for an upstairs T.V.
