Good quality, but I use EQ software to make them sound better.
The speakers are good build quality. They feel solid and well-built. The cords for the power and for audio don't feel cheap. They look nice and are a nice addition to my cheese-grater Mac Pro 3,1 with HD Cinema Display. The sound quality is better than the built-in speaker that is in the Mac Pro, but that's not saying much. I use equalization software called EQMac2 to make them sound better. These are not going to win any awards for sound quality, but will likely do better than the speakers on your monitor or PC. I needed something compact that would fit on my desk, not being obtrusive, and sound half decent. These fit the bill. The blue LED is kind of annoying. There are online instructions detailing how to get rid of the glow, but I'm not quite annoyed yet, as these speakers are on a secondary computer that is rarely used.
The speakers died on my vintage 2008 Mac, & these speakers seemed like a logical alternative to disassembling a quagmire of computer parts.
I appears that I made the correct decision related to these items. The sound quality is quite good, despite their compact size. The price point is acceptable. The only caveat is the blue light emitted by these items. If one feels around on the bottom of the device(s), the screw detents can be located. Removing the bottom plate allows access to the (2) leds, which can be covered w/black tape.
Of course,
if you find the blue light appealing...enjoy.
