Would not work in my application
This serial port was intended to connect my laptop that only has usb to a radio transceiver that used rs-233. The radio simply would not connect and I have no idea why. This product is shipped with the prolific chipset. In the past, only FTDI chipset has worked in this application. I suspect something is missing from the prolific-converted rs-232, however it is likely that my application is too strict to allow a prolific converter. I ended up finding a legacy computer with an rs-232 which works fine if course. Most likely thus product works with most applications.
