  • Restored spark to my crank-no-start motor. It now starts.

My 1982 Ford F350 with 351 windsor engine would crank-no-fire. 15 months before I replaced all ignition components including ECM and the distributor pickup, trying to fix a random stall-while-driving with no restart till cooldown condition. Those components did not fix the random stall condition. SEPARATELY, the truck had bent a pushrod a year earlier, but ran reliably with a miss on #3 while I was too dumb to know how easy that was to fix. Then the stalling began, progressing to the crank-no-start condition. I NOW THINK the new distributor pickup I installed 15 months ago went intermittantly bad, then fully failed. THIS $11 PICKUP DID RESTORE SPARK AND THE TRUCK DOES NOW START. Unfortunately I think it has coincidentally jumped time, or the new pushrod I inserted is somehow causing a timing problem OR, the new distributor pickup is not being aligned by the vacuum advance arm correctly. The truck starts but will not idle or run for long even with all sorts of throttle angle. SO I CAN'T GIVE A LONG-TERM RATING OF THIS PICKUP, BUT IT DID RESTORE SPARK.
