Dash cam that met my expectation
The dash cam is well built, small and minimalist in design. Text in user manual is crisp and legible. It works as advertised. Video quality is good. Number plate is legible even in 720p recording. App in the phone allows the user to view live recording. It also allows recorded videos and photos to be copied from dash cam to phone over WiFi. 5-minute long 720p video is around 160MB and with 1080p recording, the size increases to nearly 470MB. Faced issue of connecting phone to dash cam over WiFi after upgrading to Android 10. Found out that GPS had to be enabled for the connection. Seems a quality product and well made. Hopefully will last.
Overall the camera is well made and very easy to fit with the standard kit. If you buy the seperate wiring harness so you can take advantage of the parking mode, it is also well made and easy to fit with the replacement fuse wiring. But one small issue is that once you have it all wired up and turn on the ignition key the camera will turn on "show a green light to indicate power" but does not begin recording which can be confusing. The reason is it must have some sort of intelligence to realise the engine isn't running and so doesn't start recording until you actually start the motor. This had me very frustrated for a bit as I knew everything was wired correctly and could not figure out why it wouldn't record. Good buy dash cam.
This a neat, compact dashcam. I had it installed by a professional autoelectrician to have the parked collision option available. The only problem I had was that it needs a fast SD card and that has to be reformatted before it can be used. Good little Dashcam and great value
This Dashcam is a little ripper. Good day time and night time videos are shot and provide a very good view . Had a little mishap with a kangaroo at 2am in the morning in the country under high beam lights. It captured the event with ease and saved it as an emergency video without any prompting. Only trouble is the correct date and time sync'ed were lost and it was showing 2015 at 4am. Not sure how often the time & date needs to be sync'ed. For this reason only, I've dropped one star. Easy to install and setup and came with additional sticky pads should it need to be relocated. Watch out for the Wifi password change. It doesn't like more than 8 characters. In fact, seems it has to be exactly 8. Android app works well except for Wifi password issue. But even here, the recovery is simple and well documented on the web support site. Great camera for the price
I have 4 of these dash cams, and are happy with the quality. Relatively quick and easy to install. Download the app, format the SD card using the app, and ensure that the camera is not powered by the USB port on a laptop when initially setting up the WiFi, i and everything is smooth. Very small and compact
Easy fitment and connection with hardwire kit Connected ok to my Samsung phone after downloading app but playback gets the jitters so I removed the SD card and played it back through my PC and this solved the problem Playback is reasonably good quality however anything more than a couple of car lengths in front and the number plates are illegible even on a 27" screen but overall value for the price is good as is the quality. Good value camera
Overall I'm really happy with a camera, good quality video at night, however at day lights video quality could be better. Wifi option is awesome, might be some problems when you connecting firs time, but after just very handy when you need to watch some olds videos from your phone. Quirky app - B1W-CARCVR
Only works with the smartphone app, which is good because it eliminates the need for a screen on the camera, which is just more that can fail. The English language on the app is slightly low standard but fully useable. The only problem I had was that the supplied power cable was not long enough to run from front to back of the car for the rear facing camera. Good quality product
Very good quality picture. Easy install. start and stop recording automatically. It will be better if the detail instrument for formatting the MicroSD card is provided.
