Pros:
Detailed, clean, balanced sound. The frequencies don't mix into mud. The bass is not overwhelming.
I hear every little detail I want to hear in a song.
The ear pads are very soft and nice touch. Comfortable enough to wear them for the whole day (5-8 hours straight).
The headphones are quite warm, as expected, though I can survive even outside (in Israel).
Charge time is not so bad. Using them via a cable in the evening (on average 30-60 mins) is enough to compensate for 4-6 hours of use through a day.
Cons:
Low and high mids are a bit thin to my taste.
The control design is just ridiculous. The touch button right above the volume swing... Though I got used to it within a week.
The sound isolation isn't good, though the sound doesn't leak outside.
The headphones work only with the original cable; isn't quite flexible.
Bottom line:
The sound is clean and balanced; the sound profile is not tilted towards bass.
Probably a bit overpriced, though I am happy with the purchase.
Age related hearing loss made listening to my hi-end speakers so frustrating but I can still enjoy music on headphones. Wanted to break free of the cord and was just hoping to find wireless headphones with equal sound quality to my trusty corded SONY reference phones. Well, these ATH-DSR9BT sound so good that hearing them for the first time brought tears. Higher sound quality than my old corded phones in back to back comparison by far. The bluetooth receives with no signal problems all through my house and out into the yard. I don't know if my hearing loss will progress but for now I'm playing my old favorites every chance I get and ENJOYING music again.
Headphones have a very good sound with a bias to the high frequencies, which are drawn by clearly defined strokes. The same can be said about mid frequencies.
Low frequencies are very neutral, even a little bit poor.
The biggest drawback of the headphones, the cable seems to be standard, micro USB, but in fact, you can’t insert any other micro USB cable into the headphones: the original bundled cable has a special physical configuration of the B tip - micro USB, although the USB tip A is absolutely standard.
The instruction manual for the headphones prohibits to use of an incomplete cable.
