Atragon
A not-to-bad Japanese movie in the Godzilla sense. Like most of those movies, the plot can be somewhat disjointed and illogical, but if you can get past that, it's a pretty good ride. The models used in the movie look very good, and the special effects are good for this era. Like I mentioned, there are some odd things from a scientific perspective (an underwater freeze ray?) plus the idea of a huge underwater empire declaring war on the surface world for some reason that was never really explained. But I can let all that go and enjoy this flick. The video quality of the DVD was very good.

RARE Atragon DVD
I love collecting Godzilla, but another thing I love collecting is other Toho Kaiju films such as Mothra, Rodan, Frankenstein conquers the world, War of the Gargantuas etc. Im trying to have all the more obscure kaiju films in my collection either on DVD or Bluray so naturally I was very happy to find this FINALLY! This certain DVD is one I've been looking to get for a long time and I finally found it for not only free shipping, but for only $20! And I'm very happy even if it has some water damage! This film Atragon tells the story of an undersea empire seeking to take control of the world above the sea. It also tells the origins of the giant sea-serpent dragon kaiju MANDA!
