Wonderful depiction of what life was like for our early convict settlers
Loved the mini series when first on TV, and again in Germany (spoken in German), and couldn't believe my luck when it was available on DVD. Watched it as soon as I got it and loved every minute of it. I am very much into Australian history, especially our early settlement years and this series portrayed Australia as it was and not as we were taught in the 1960's. a childhood favorite that didn't lose its flavour
I first saw "Against the Wind" in B&W when I was 12. It was one of my childhood favorites, and I was thrilled to see that it is for sale on DVD. To my delight, seeing it after so many years left me with a satisfying experience and even my children loved it which is an achievement on its own when considering the "sponge-bob" pace of today's media.
