    Great camera

This is my first camera and I was expecting it to be a hard learning curve but this camera is pretty easy to use and the lens is perfect for all the pictures I've wanted to do so far. adjusting aperature, shutter speed, and iso are all easy to do and image quality is great. though the built in light meter is a little hard to use at times.

    Great Camera But...

The camera is in great shape and it did come with 2 lenses but only one of them goes to the camera that I purchased. To use the lense I'd have to pay $50+ for an adaptor. I'm pleased with the camera itself but saddened by the fact that I cannot use it yet unless I bring out the large 70-210mm lens.

  • So Far So Good.

So far it seems like its working, I haven't gone to my class and tried to develop the film so I have not seen how the images have turned out... I feel like I got a pretty good deal on the camera. The pictures the ad were exactly how the camera came to me, however the pictures did not show me the missing bottom film turner, which is okay since I wasn't planning on using it, but it would've been nice to know... Overall I am very satisfied with my purchase and thank you for providing me with this product!

  • My sons gift

He loves it. Can’t wait to see the photos after they are developed. He is taking film studies in college and has learned a lot about cameras and the type of film. So he is looking forward to see the quality.

  • Simple to operate 35mm camera with super high quality lens. Great photos!

The particular Canon AE-1 I purchased from Tokyo Camera was in excellent condition without flaws in lens and view finder. I owned one of these back in 1978 - 1980 and sold it with flash and camera case for $425 in 1981. Wish I would have kept it. The one I purchased was less than half that price in 2020 dollars. What an awesome value.

  • Doesn't work...Not "Mint" Condition

This camera was delivered to me in a cardboard box and plastic bag, no padding or anything. The body of the camera overall looked fine, but I was unable to see through the viewfinder. I didn't want to waste film trying to use it, so I took it to a professional to see what was going on. He let me know that the shutter was completely busted and it would be about $300 to repair. The camera I received was nowhere near mint condition and basically not repairable. You may get lucky and get a camera that actually works like so many other reviewers did, just be aware there are no returns.

  • Wonderful!

I’m so happy with my purchase....came with two lenses in their original box, manual, and the strap. The camera itself is absolutely mint. Everything looks brand new and works beautifully. I’m so excited to take and develop pictures from this camera! Thanks so much!

  • AMAZING!!!

I just picked up my new Canon AE-1 and it’s in AMAZING condition for a used camera! I’ve been looking for this exact camera for 5 years and I can’t believe I was finally able to find one in this condition and at this great affordable price. Everything seems to be working just fine so I don’t expect there to be issues when I go out and shoot with it later this month.

  • Canon AE-1 Program - Great for starting out in film photography

The camera itself is in even better condition than I had anticipated based on the listing; only minor cosmetic damage. This is my first film camera, but it's so easy to use it knocks down any barrier-to-entry concerns one might have about using film cameras. Put a battery in it, loaded up some film easy-peasy and it was good to go right away! Works like a charm and is more engaging and fun to use than a DSLR.
