Excellent, professional headset for most uses
It's Plantronics so it's professional quality audio and interface. It works exactly as advertised. The main limitation, for a few of us who sit on support calls for hours at a time is the effective limit of 3 to 4 hours of continuous use. None of the 3 sizes of ear pieces fit my particular ear well so there is more background noise and less effective volume than I would like, but this will vary from person to person. If I push the earpiece in and hold it, volume and clarity are excellent even in noisy environments. With the previous model that I had, I could connect the micro USB cable and charge it while using it in extreme cases. This new model has external contacts that won't wear out like a USB port, better for most purposes, but preventing charging while on a call.Verified purchase: YesCondition: Pre-owned

Great features - when they work
I have been a Plantronics user for years. In my opinion they have been number one for Bluetooth headsets. My last Voyager Legend lasted over 2 years & that's after heavy day to day use. Moved up to the Voyager 5200 with better mics for better background noise reduction. Received my new headset but there were issues not with the company who sold it but issues with certain issues with features not working correctly. By disabling the sensor that knows when its off or on your ear all voice prompts started working correctly. My old Voyager had this issue as well. Disabled the exact same feature it as well. I for one don't need my headset to know when its on or off my ear as when I take it off my ear I turn it off. Hope this helps someone. Almost perfect
This item is very very good. Sound quality is great. Mic is very clear. I have 2 minor complaints. Now, i don't know the manufacturing year, i don't know when this model was released. That said, i can only compare it to the Plantronics Voyager Legend headset, as that is the only other Bluetooth headset i have used in recent years. That, and it's the same manufacturer and a very similar device, so the comparison seems fair. This device (voyager 5200) has a slightly smaller ear hook, which makes it sit slightly off. By smaller i mean the length of the side that has the actual ear piece and mic feels slightly shorter, which makes it not sit as comfortably on my ear. My second complaint is that the battery life is only 6 hours, where the voyager legend has a battery life of 7 hours. The body of the headset (the part containing the buttons and charging port, etc.) Is slightly wider than the voyager legend, which is also slightly uncomfortable. I don't know for sure, but i suspect this is due to the one thing that gives this product a significant advantage over the legend, and that is the addition of a micro usb charging port in addition to the magnetic one. In addition to the added discomfort of a wider device behind your ear, the other disadvantage of the added usb port is that the magnetic charger from the voyager legend does not fit this product. However, these two disadvantages, in my opinion, are outweighed by the convenience of the usb port, as the magnetic chargers often don't like to sit properly on the headset which causes it to either charge very slowly, or not charge at all. Overall, this is a good product but could use a couple tweaks in the next model. I would give it 3.5 stars.Verified purchase: YesCondition: Refurbished

Pro's slightly outweigh cons!
Disappointed in battery life......5hrs at best! Transmission distance is fair to poor! My other Bluetooth earpiece will do 100-150 ft. This Voyager is lucky to do 50 ft.......disappointing! Otherwise I really like the features that others don't have. Announces who is calling and gives the option to accept or decline the call. Cheaper Bluetooth's don't offer this! Also disappointing the charging port is micro when most all Android phones are using USB-Type C! Just one more cord to have to carry. Good Value and Great Performance
All of these headsets (or earpieces) seem to be different. The original one I bought years ago had the best features. These are reliable, charge quickly, and are durable. The Plantronics software is helpful too for getting status, finding it when misplaced. I recommend using the case to carry in your pocket. The loop over the ear will break after a while when stowed and removed repeatedly from the pocket. The best Plantronics headset I have ever owned!
This is my second Plantronics bluetooth headset and I like it more than my Plantronics Voyager Plus as far as the extra features. Well designed and sturdy and the touch to answer or reject a call feature is great. And now I can connect with Ask Google with it as well. I don't need the charging case but that is a great option for people who use their headsets a lot. Improvement over the Legend
I’ve had several Voyager Legends over the years and my main complaint with them has been the magnetic hookup charger cable. I work in a dusty environment and the contacts get dirty and eventually I can’t get the charger to connect. Now, with the 5200 version, they’ve gone to a regular mini USB cable to charge. This is much better! Also, the buttons on the headset itself are better designed and easier to use. This headset is an improvement over older models.Verified purchase: YesCondition: New

Okay at best
I've been using this Bluetooth occasionally for a few weeks and have experienced many issues with voice clarity both in the ear piece and have had complaints from the person I've been on the phone with saying that I should like I'm talking into a can. It does not work real well if you are wearing glasses but is doable. It does have easy to use controls, decent battery life and some days it sounds good, but to many times it doesn't.
