The Nikon N6006 Film Camera (also known as Nikon F601) is the first Nikon Film Camera to use 6v Lithium batteries, shifting away from the alkaline battery. Since they had more shelf life and could work under extreme temperature, the Nikon N6006 Film Camera had an extra edge over other Nikon Film Cameras. The Nikon N6006 Film Camera also features predictive focus tracking system, which tracks the subjectÂ’s speed of motion and adjusts the focus taking the shutter lag time into consideration. The predictive focus tracking system results in perfect auto-focusing. Amazing!
What a great little auto focus camera! I bought my first Nikon N6006 brand new years ago and I loved it. I took so many great pictures with that camera and even had some of them published in a national magazine. I ended up, like so many others, selling off my 35mm film equipment and going the digital route. Recently I have decided to come back to film and this is one of the first cameras I picked up again and I love it all over again. When I bought the new one years ago I remember paying somewhere around $600 for it. This time I bought one that is like new for well under $100. interesting buy. Two of the three lenses actually fit the body. The other lens was for a Pentax camera. Since I don't have one I have no idea how it works. the first two work well on my Nikon D7000 so the cost wasn't too bad. Lightweight powerhouse Nikon
This is an outstanding Nikon 35mm film camera. It is very unappreciated in the modern world of digital cameras. I used to teach small classes on film photography back in the 90s and this was my recommendation to most of my students. Film photography is making a comeback in a major way. Even Walmart is selling film again. This excellent Nikon camera has most of the features that one would find on a late Nikon camera. In Program mode and with Auto Focus enabled the camera will do all the work to get a perfect exposure. All the manual settings are available to the touch for complete control of shutter and aperture. It arrived in great condition for an almost 30 year old camera. I tested it against my other Nikon film camera, the shutter speeds and meter readings were good. "Takes a Lickin' and Keeps On Tickin'"
I bought this camera as a parts camera, because I needed a door for a friend;s N6006. It was beat up a bit and needed a good cleaning up, but on a whim, I dropped a battery and a roll of expired film into it and popped off a few shots. It functioned perfectly, with great exposures and image quality! It was louder than my old N8008, which was loud enough, but that is how this series of Nikons were. Loud and Rugged!
