    Nicely Constructed Little Binoculars

The Celestron EclipSmart Binoculars are available in 10x25 and 10x42. The 10 power is perfect for sun gazing - nearly fills the eyepiece with the image. These binoculars and nicely constructed - not cheap plastic. The only slight problem is when you're hand-holding binoculars you do get some wobble. The small objective lenses are not a problem - as you'll never use these for night viewing. I have no problem recommending these!

Great for Occasional Use, Easier to Store than a Telescope!

It worked as advertised. I was able to look at the sun being eclipsed and could even see a sunspot! I knew beforehand that I would not be using this daily and wanted something easy to store. I had a telescope as a kid and it mostly took up space in a closet LOL The con is that being binoculars, the image was a bit shaky because it's hard to steady one's hands. Lens quality is okay considering I paid less than $30.

  • OK .... worked fine, but eclipse glasses better!

Looking before eclipse they did not function well. During eclipse they were fine, but I found my glass lense eclipse glasses were best. Where your eye meet the binoculars should have had a larger rubber viewer to fully cover your eyes ... just be careful while viewing.

  • Not sure how much use I'll get out of it in future, but it did the trick for the eclipse! :-)

Nothing to complain about! They arrived in plenty of time for us to travel to the eclipse, and they performed as advertised — plus I can still see, so I must not have damaged my eyes. ;-) They seem well-made, the focus is right on once you get the hang of it, and the Sun becomes an impressive 10X bigger white disc when you look through them. They're nicely rubberized all over, so they could survive getting knocked around some.

  • Great Value

Inexpensive, but very good. Sun looks about the size of a quarter, it does not fill the whole lens as suggested.

  • Handy solar binoculars

I purchased these small binoculars to quickly check the sun activity without having to set up my big guns. Very handy for passing around to friends while setting up for sunspot viewing or eclipses. Price is right too.
