Make your way to the heart of the dungeon in Dark Chambers for the Atari 2600. Go it alone, or bring a friend with you for two-player simultaneous play through a 26-level dungeon. There are weapons, potions and treasures to be found while you battle wraiths, wizards, skeletons, zombies and grim reapers who drain your strength should they touch you. There are also traps and poisonous potions that will siphon your life, as well. Fortunately, you have many weapons with which to combat the forces of evil. You start off with a modest weapon, but pick up a gun and you can fire faster. Daggers make your shots more powerful and shields to minimize the damage done by your enemies. You can also find bombs that will destroy everything on the screen at once. There are many treasures to be found on each level, including strongboxes, jewels, and silver and gold chalices -- all which earn you your points. Points are also awarded for each enemy you kill. Find keys to open locked doors, and find the stairs to go down to the next level. The game ends when your character dies, or when you make it through all 26 levels.
