This release presents a double feature of Hollywood classics starring leading lady Barbara Stanwyck: in the film noir THE STRANGE LOVE OF MARTHA IVERS (1946), a conniving heiress (Stanwyck) ropes her weak-willed, alcoholic husband (Kirk Douglas) into a murder plot; and in the musical mystery LADY OF BURLESQUE (1943), a sardonic comedian (Michael O'Shea) and an ambitious stripper (Stanwyck) team up to solve a string of murders within their seedy burlesque troupe.     A young and delightful Stanwyk

    A light and breezy musical comedy with a "murder mystery" thrown in. Stanwyk was young and new to movies at the time of filming, but she had star power written all over her. The flick was made in the early 30's. Nevertheless, the quality and resolution is amazing. You'll want to watch it twice...... or more!
