About this product

Product Information

The Legend of Zelda has a clear objective: save Princess Zelda from the evil Ganon and restore peace to the world of Hyrule. The Legend of Zelda is an action packed adventure game that follows the iconic hero named Link. Made for the first Nintendo Entertainment System, this classic video game gained cult status with its open fantastical world of Hyrule, the kingdom that Princess Zelda is in charge of and that Link must save. Players must complete nine dungeon mazes to win the game, each dungeon filled with evil creatures and beasts sent from the main villain, Ganon. Link, the hero, can equip weapons he finds and enough game play can unlock upgrades to his weaponry.

  • Legends of Memories!

WoW!!! These games bring so many memories! The Nintendo Entertainment System (NES) was the next in line game system following the end of the Atari 2600 (well, not the end...it just had a successor) AND...what a SUCCESSOR!! This system had many, many GREAT games, BUT...the two that are most beloved, AND...certainly LOVED by me was...the Legend of Zelda and Zelda II: the Adventures of link! The second game, was certainly harder, BUT...NOT unbeatable!! (Hope for ALL who think it's too hard) I spent many hours playing these games ad Link (the name of our hero) goes on an extraordinary adventure, in search of the BELOVED Princess: Zelda (held prisoner, somewhere in the game) by the Evil Gannon! This was, by far, the best game(s) Nintendo put out! I feel a great sense of NOSTALGIA when playing these games...a sense of HOME!! After ALL these years, that have gone by and years that have seen many new games that give LINK new adventures...none COMPARE (even come CLOSE) to these two original ADVENTURES of LINK! These two, I think...will go down in the History Books!!!

  • Such a great game

There is something magical about picking up a old video game that blew the minds of kids and adults in the 80's (or 1986 to be exact). Today standards this is quite simple you, Link, the hero must find the Tri-force and princess Zelda and to do that you have to travel around Hyrule and fight monsters and explore dungeons and find the pieces of the tri-force and so on! If you are buying this game, have this in mind When this game was released it was HUGE and took a lot of time to finish.. so nintendo included a save feature! It was pretty cool during that time since very few NES games had this feature. So the save feature can fail and its due to that the chip that saves your data has a CR2035 battery attached to it and most likely said battery will be drained and youðll have to change it yourself But this obviously should be expected since this is a 31 year old game. The good news is that you can always find a youtube video that shows you how to change that battery. If you are collecting NES games this is a great buy

  • Product was like new minus box and paper.

Everything functioned as well as a new game cartridge. I did replace the battery because of the age of the old battery. This was definitely a NES original product in prime condition as could be determined by the battery replacement tear-down. I'm just finishing the second quest and there have been NO glitches ... great product.

  • Great game, extremely happy with it!

Game arrived earlier than expected in fairly good shape. A few scuffs, but those were shown in the pictures, so I knew what I was getting into. The game works great, and is currently my favorite in my NES library.

  • Awesome Game, But Pricey

Of course this is a classic. And it is still fun to play even all these years later. The only problem with buying the original is it can be pretty pricey and it may not even be a 100%. By that I mean you may have to replace the battery that lets you save your progess, and in the case of my purchase, replace the case or sticker. You can get this game for $5 from the Virtural Console on your 3DS or Wii/Wii U if all you want is to experience the game and its much cheaper. Still though, amazing game.

  • Ideal situation

Item exactly as described and more. Buying old games can be tricky. The condition often only refers to the aesthetic shape the item is in. Once I tested the game, it was clear that great care had been taken to ensure the “like new” description was true in every way. Not only did it look new, but the game fired up first try.

  • Still a fun challenge

I have played and bought this game before ever owning an NES. But when I got one, this is one of the first games I wanted to own on an actual cartridge. I had a cartridge of 143 or something games and it had Zelda on it but it wasn't the same because the save didn't work. This game was very good and the gold paint felt better in person.

  • One Of The Best Video Games Of All Time

I played this game on Nintendo GameCube, Nintendo Game Boy, and Nintendo Wii Virtual Console, Nintendo Wii U Virtual Console, and the Nintendo NES (Nintendo Entertainment System) Classic Edition. It feels very good to play the game again on the original Nintendo NES (Nintendo Entertainment System) approximately thirty+ years (three decades) after the initial release in the 1980s.
