Powerline filters are critical for larger homes and if the router is separated from the computer by thick brick walls. This device is suitable for most day to day activities. Only useful on same circuit, doesn't work over longer (25m) power runs.
Nowhere in the packaging did it mention that it was limited by wiring distance. What I wanted was to run LAN out to the metal shed, about 10m away from the house and 15m from the WiFi router in a straight line..However by the time the signal went to the mains meter box and then out to the shed the signal was causing the Red LED to flash, indicating extremely low bandwidth and I couldn't get it to work. When tested inside the house on the same circuit it was fine, however so did the WiFi at this range.Verified purchase: YesCondition: New

They are easy to set up and they are excellent quality!
