bad design.
the separate "making Bags" feature is great. The actual "vacuum seal" feature design is not designed well in my opinion. You have to use 2 hands to hold the filled bag in the proper position for vac/sealing so you can not easily press the actuating switch. Also you need to position something in front of the unit to help support the filled bag in order to keep the edges of the open bag closed prior to the completion of the vac/sealing process. Good and the Bad
I have used the older 3000 series food saver for years. This new food saver makes it much easier to cut and seal the bottom of the bag since the sealer is low to the counter where the cutter is. What i hate is it requires both thumbs to start the machine and we have to physically push the sealing door closed as it does not have enough spring pressure to create a starting seal. Overall I think the older model is more reliable. The area where one stores the rolls is too small for the larger rolls so you have to reduce the roll size by 50% to fit. Good Model But Tricky to Operate
Overall we like this model but the sealing process is tricky. You need to hands and have to hold your food in the air for it doesn't slide out of the sealer. My experience
So it doesnt vacuum and seal in moist mode its starts and then stops. At least half the time it wont vacuum and seal in dry mode either. The bottom sealer is great and the bag cutter is awesome. Have not tried the hand held accessory.Verified purchase: YesCondition: Pre-owned
