A journey into love, tears and laughter. Travelling North tells the story of Frank (Leo McKern), a crotchety old man with an unending zest and passion for life, and Frances (Julia Blake), his much younger companion travelling to Queensland to enjoy their retirement and each other. Unfortunately the idyllic North cannot calm Frank's complex personality and desire to live life to the fullest, and Frances watches helplessly as Frank struggles to understand his own emotional and physical limitations. I had part of my Honeymoon in Port Douglas in 1975..... this movie was made in 1986. In 1967 ... a youthful 20 year old Christopher Skase , sat on Four Mile Beach , sketching an idea he had , onto a scrap of paper , to build a Resort there. His "idea" came to fruition in 1990.
