Does the job...didn't need to replace the plumbing avoiding Plumber Fees.
I'm actually reviewing the mid-size model the E170C which is a very similar power usage (850W) to the E230 (925W) the only difference is that at about 8 metre head the E170 has flow rate of 170L/min while the E230 is 230L/min.
The eBay ad was titled E230 BUT I received the E170. The main thing was that it still fully replaced my 12yo E230 pump, which was for solar heating and it did need to pump to a 2nd storey roof (about 8m) and the E170 does so successfully (albeit I would argue it needs to runs longer to successfully increase the pool temp to the desired temp). I was refunded $30 (6% of purchase price) by the seller for the inaccuracy of the ad vs product received, as I didn't realise it was the E170 until after I had installed it, and as it was doing the job I was not willing to disconnect/send back/wait for the E230 or get fully refunded.
Anyway the E170 is perfect for those who are using it for say filtering your poolwater at basically groundlevel....no difference in flowrate between the 230 v 170 at groundlevel.
It is working well for 5 days now. Noise is much less than the old pump. Pressure is awesome. Had to change the fittings with e existing pipes though even the old one was from Astral too. However, the old pump was 18 years old.
