About this product

Product Information

"Super Robot Taisen OG Saga: Endless Frontier" was released in 2008 for the Nintendo DS. In the game, players assume the role of Haken Browning, a professional relic and bounty hunter, as well as amateur ladies’ man, who sets out to uncover a hidden war which is posing a threat to the multiverse. The game features a cast of interesting allies for Haken, including were-women, machine-women, and demon-women, in addition to women of a more everyday nature, along with enemies ranging from humans to robots. There are also a variety of worlds to explore throughout space and time as players engage with an all-new storyline. The Endless Frontier of the saga title refers to a civilization-spanning society comprising a huge variety of planets. These include the technologically advanced world of Lost Herencia and the more traditional mythic fantasy RPG world of Elfetale, all accessed via the Cross Gates. Alongside Haken Browning, the story is led by Kaguya Nanbu, a princess from the royal Nanbu Clan; Aschen Brodel, an android “Cinderella” with two contrasting personalities; and Suzuka-Hime, the royal priestess princess of the Shiki-Oni tribe who, despite being over 100 years old, has the appearance of a teenager. Together, the lead characters take on the likes of alpha Shiki-Oni male Shuten, cat-person Katze Kotolnos, and the kunoichi-style character of Otone. In addition to the original lineup of characters, "Super Robot Taisen OG Saga: Endless Frontier" also features a number of crossovers recognizable from other Monolith Soft games. Among the most notable differences between "Super Robot Taisen OG Saga: Endless Frontier" and "Super Robot Taisen: Original Generation" is its reinvented battle system. Introducing a turn-based, role-playing gameplay system, in place of the original tactical or real-time strategy gaming systems, the game also incorporates a range of new attack techniques. Chain attacks bring a high level of action to combat, allowing players to keep enemies from launching counter-attacks with a barrage of kicks, punches, slashes, and attacks with bombs and guns, among other items. Chain attacks are executed with time-sensitive button controls and may even incorporate allies. Attack combos can be customized to include a choice of skills – varying in strength and other attributes, such as resources consumption – from an attack menu. Skills also have secondary advantages, such as stuns and critical hits, which can be used strategically in battle against certain enemies. A great game for JRPG and anime connoisseurs, "Super Robot Taisen OG Saga: Endless Frontier" represents a refreshing change from the standard offerings in this popular niche genre. With an innovative battle system, light-hearted and comical story, action-packed combat, and strategic elements, this is one of those offbeat Nintendo DS video games that really entertains every time you play.

  • A fantastic DS game from 2009

This is a great unique JRPG game that came out for the DS back in 2009. If you like unique gameplay mechanics that are a little different from the RPG mold, this is for you. The pro: The game is long (like other Monolith Soft & Banpresto games), and the JRPG fighting mechanics are way cool for it's time. Other: You can check screenshots or videos online to see how the game fully works. The con: Because this game didn't sell well at all in North America, this game has become a valuable collector item to get. Even the game cartridge itself costs the same amount for a new game ($50-$70) and that's on the cheap end too. If you're wanting to get the game with case and all, you need to buy this game IMMEDIATELY! With this title having no future for future ports, this game will only go up in price so buy it if you're interested. Otherwise, prepare to pay $300-$800 in the future when there are only a few official game cartridges left.
