The advertisement says about 90% of meters are compatible, but this is highly doubtful today with so many "Smart" meters being installed. Smart meters are not compatible, as I found out the hard way when I took the chance buying it. I have nothing against the unit, and am a big fan of B&D products. But it's pretty obvious why so many of these are on eBay now, being sold with little reference to meter compatibility. Less and less of them will interface with it. My advice; make sure yours is compatible, or buy another design that doesn't rely on the meter in the first place.
It works well on my meter it's a bio directional meter for solar going back into the grid. So I can see how many watts are being produced at any time from in the house and see the outside temperature also.
Works well if you have a compatible meter (these are fewer in number as remote monitoring and networked meters are rolled out). This device was a replacement for the same model which died after about 8 years.
