Barley Straw to remove algae
I have had the barley straw in my small fish pond for about a month now and don't see any difference in water clarity or lack of clarity because of algae. Not sure that it is going to work as advertised. Bales didn't work for my pond
Although the bales were nicely constructed and came as promised, they were not effective at all for my small outdoor pond. Since there are many variables to consider, I cannot say that they would not work for a different pond environment, but my pond was small, had fish and 2 turtles, and did not help keep the algae under control.
