Helps a lot
Of course there are higher end and much more expensive studio subwoofers, but this does the job and really helps me hear and mix the low end. This sub is a medium great sub. Works well and reliably. However, not very loud, the EQ is hard to get to and is pretty weak. I bought it to match the 7" Yamahas I currently had. I got this to add low end frequency representation missing from my pair of Yamaha HS5 monitors connected to my Yamaha Montage 8 synth workstation. Bought it broken to save $$. The best part is the driver started to smoke as soon as it was switched on.... just needed a new driver. Couldn’t be happier as the unit itself is a sleek black and the amp is still in great shape. Paired with hs8 mains this bass bin does studio monitoring wonders.
