Focused on the couturier capital of the Western Hemisphere, the Fashion Designer New York entry in Ubisoft's occupationally oriented Imagine line provides an interactive sampling of the creative side of the fashion industry while encouraging players to create and develop new looks and styles. From sketchpads to photo shoots, stylus-friendly design workshops, and colorful mini-games allow players to follow the career of an up-and-coming designer about to make it big in the big city. Players can choose from a variety of elements to piece together a new ensemble, and additional fabrics and design components are unlocked in the Clothing Workshop.<br><br>When the outfit is just right, it should be worn just right, so further workshops allow players to choose the make-up, nail polish, and hairstyles of the models who debut their masterpieces to the public. The game also provides behind-the-scenes fashion show insights in a Catwalk Workshop mode. Capturing the moments, up to 50 photos of the models and clothes can be stored and organized in the Photo Workshop. Although the game is based in New York City, trends in other fashion-savvy places (such as Italy and France) are given due consideration, as players ultimately aim for worldwide fame and acclaim.
