Shallow depth accuracy?
If I can't touch bottom with my 9 ft fly rod I know that repeated readings on the Hawkeye showing 6 ft depth is not accurate. I have reason to believe that in deeper water the device is probably more accurate. Because of these inconsistencies I'm not sure yet that I can recommend the Hawkeye.

Was in great condition! Works as is should when put into cleared ice hole, but won't read through thick clear ice. I was hoping to not have to drill a hold just to check depths on lakes I don't know real well.
