The Godfather Trilogy
The first two films have long been considered the best films in the trilogy and after rewatching it, I have to agree. That said there's nothing wrong with the third film but I suppose coming so late after the first two it lost something in the continuity needed to really bring the films together and offer a satisfactory conclusion to a fantastic story.
