I use this unit instead of a Smart TV

Upscaling to 4k, built in wifi or hardwire, plays Region free 4K discs, Blu-ray, DVD and CD plus Smart features. Pretty much anything in your movie library. You get a lot of features for the price. Higher end players command twice the cost with the same features. I take this with me when I travel abroad because it runs on different voltages. Great buy

Buttons are small and hard to push. Remote is built for the size of children. Why a curved design when 99% of TV and stereo equipment is rectangle???

  • Samsung 4k M9500 great buy

I really like the M9500 although at this point I'm only using it as a 4k ultra HD player. I don't have the internet hook up. I skipped that during the initial hook up. I'm sure when I do hook it up it will be great. The Samsun M9500 is easy to hookup and the player is as I expected. It is excellent picture quality and I like the onscreen set up menu. 4k DVDs load quickly and I'm hook up to a VISO sound bar which was a breeze to install. I 'm no wizard when it comes to hooking up multiple devices but this install went amazingly good. The price was also good ($297.00). I'd recommend this player to my friends.

  • As Pomised: Code-free DVD & Blu-ray Player

It does what it promised. I popped a British DVD in and it played fine. Playing a British blu-ray requires an extra step (follow instructions enclosed) and it played fine, too. My American DVD's and blu-rays play fine, also. I expect it plays discs from other regions, but I don't own any others from there. I updated the Samsung software and that did not interfere with region-free features. Purchased from 220Bargains.

  • Great Bang for the buck.

OK lets face it. 4K players are way overpriced. When I bought my first BD player 12 years ago I paid $250 for it. Now you can get one for about $40. The same is true with 4K. It's the latest and greatest so it's priced way up there. If you can wait, the prices will come down. I only got this one because I got an awesome price and I wanted one to go with my new 4K TV. It's a great easy to use machine. Set up is quick and simple and comes with a lot of built in thingys for streaming and downloading and all that rot it your into that. But my TV and new Audio Video Amp comes with all that stuff too so it's kind of redundant. And lets face it. 4K is little more then a gimmick. I can play a regular BD disk, or a 4K disk and can tell no difference in picture quality. Yes, the DVD player, Amp, and TV all contain upscalers to supposedly improve quality but who knows. I think the biggest improvement over the older stuff is the HDR capability. The colors really pop. So to wrap it up if your hell bent to get a 4K DVD player to match your new 4K TV you can't go wrong with this Samsung if you can get it for as cheap as I did. $139.

  • Works great, as expected from Samsung

I have a 2 year old Samsung Ultra HD model but it did not have 4K output but it did have 4K upscaling and I swear it has a slightly better picture than this new one but it was much more complicated to set up. You had to be a rocket engineer just set up the older model. With this new one you just plug it in. Basically it's all intuitive and everything works. Can't really beat it for the money. I would expect anyone who bought one would really appreciate this new machine.

  • Awesome so far.

Only used it twice. Once with a 4K Blu-Ray disc and another time with a regular Blu-Ray disc. Both picture qualities were good. One thing I did not know about is the remote control paired with our Samsung smart TV. It didn’t require any setup to make the remote control work our TV! While playing the first disc, the player kept pausing every few minutes. Finally I noticed the light on the player kept flashing like it was constantly being given a command. I took the battery out of the remote control and it quit. I finally found out that the pause button easily sticks in the remote control. I thought I bought a lemon at first, but it was simply a stuck remote button, which is no big deal. I just remember now to make sure the button isn’t hung.

  • Easy set-up

It is a "plug and play" device. The low profile design and light weight make it easy to place. Having a display power light on the device is a nice upgrade to previous models. However, it did not have an included connector cable, but I had one on hand i could use.

  • lightweight with superb features

what's good about this product is its not only 4k but it also is 50 times better quality than a standard blu ray player. Cheaper than walmart wants for one. Walmart wanted 178.00 dollars for one. This one was 68.00 dollars cheaper. It also plays just as good as the one at walmart and target.
