    Affordable, enterprise grade, excellent coverage.

The V3 update of TP-Link's EAP245 Ceiling Mount Access Point is well worth the wait. Compared to the previous version, the wiring of the access point is now invisible due to the relocation of the of the network and power ports. TP-Link also added a gigabit pass-through port in addition to the original gigabit power over ethernet port. These changes are extremely helpful, especially when used in the home, in order to keep the marital bliss intact from unsightly wiring. Excellent coverage of both channels means I dropped from two of a competing brand's access points down to just one EAP245 V3! TP-Link has multiple options for controlling the access point: Web browser, phone app, Windows or Linux client, using TP-Link's cloud service, or even a dedicated controller box. The latter three are extremely handy if you have multiple access points. Only the Omada hardware controller is an additional cost. Did I mention I really, really like this access point? Between its ability to be easily configured, yet chock-full of enterprise grade options from band steering, bandwidth prioritization and throttling, load balancing, seamless handoff between multiple access points, multiple SSIDs, scheduling, a log server, and more, this feature rich and speedy access point is well worth the money over any consumer grade product!

    Absolutely the worst!

These units are a waste of money, time, and energy! All devices show full strength signal but will not access the network. You have to turn WiFi off on your device and then back on constantly! Tech support was no help. Do yourself a favor and do not buy this units.

  • Works well in a 2000 sq ft home

Hardest part of the setup is running the cat 5e cable through the attic. I purchased a Poe adapter so the unit is powered by the Ethernet cable but a transformer is included if you have an outlet near the installation point. Setup was fairly easy using the downloaded software. It's a little large but definitely has a more consistent signal than the ATT supplied wireless router. All settings are accessable using the software on a computer or cell phone. The Ethernet cable plugs in the side of the unit so the wire will show. Not realizing this I bought a blue cable and had to paint the cable white so it would blend in to the ceiling. Get a white cable if your ceiling is white. One issue is everything on wifi gets half speed as anything wired or wifi into the att router gets full speed. Playing with settings to see if I can figure that out.

  • Solid signal, good coverage.

I have installed two of these in two different houses now, and they work very well. The POE option allows them to be installed on the ceiling without power near by, In the middle of the house, covers the whole 2500 SqF. at the farthest point still getting around -60 dBm signal strength on a cell phone. Installs easy once the cable is run. The only thing that I don't like is that the network cable cannot be completely hidden.

  • Next level WiFi

Good coverage, a lot of mounting options. You have to download the control application but it’s lightweight, and offers good security options and lastly, easy to configure for basic users.

It was easy to setup, not over priced like others, and a good coverage area. I recommend this product to the novice and seasoned professionals.

  • TP-Link Access Point

I have not had any problem with the initial configuration or the operation of the unit. The only question I have is why did I not buy this product sooner? It is worth the price. Great product
