The good and the bad
An extremely sharp lens but it has limitations. Unlike the 60 mm macro it focuses only to 1 feet versus 6 inches. Certainly that allows a longer distance to the subject, but also gives a wider field of view necessitating more cropping in editing. Also a better lens to use for portraits. . But i prefer the 60 mm with the 1.4 telextender for true close up macro. And there is a significant size and weight reduction with the 60.Verified purchase: YesCondition: Pre-owned

I just sold all of my canon equipment 6D, 7D and L series lenses to buy the Fujifilm XT3 and I bought the 80mm 2.8 prime macro to complement my beautiful new camera. I wasn’t crazy about the kit lens. I am such a happy photographer with this equipment. Surprising results
I first thought it was broken because the floating element moves freely when turned off. But what a joy to use. Absolutely beautiful imagery from this lens.
