With a complete suite of editing and mixing tools, a drum machine, and an 80GB internal hard disk, creating a master track for your original song or CD project has never been easier. This 32-track digital recording unit can even be used to capture live shows, and it's a perfect audio device for the singer-songwriter who wants to create their own high-quality demos.Thirty-two tracks of simultaneous playback and up to 12 tracks of simultaneous recording give you room to compose complex pieces of music and record virtually any instrument you desire. You can connect your guitar or bass with ease thanks to the presence of a dedicated input jack. This portable studio allows you to control the parameters of its mixer with MIDI and includes 11 professional effects that will give your recordings a true studio sound. Each track also offers up an additional eight virtual tracks, meaning that you have 272 channels of total output at your disposal. Each of these can be digitally edited for outstanding results, providing more flexibility than analog units.The Korg D3200 has plenty of mic inputs. There are 12 1/4-inch inputs. Eight of these inputs are also configured for XLR connections and provide phantom power. If you happen to be recording live, this gives you ample inputs so that all your instruments can be recorded on separate channels and mixed to perfection.For those who want to add percussion to their music, the Korg D3200 also features a built-in Session Drums component. You can choose from a variety of drumbeats for many different musical styles or create your own with the component's customization tool. The settings for the percussion machine and other elements can be monitored via the high-resolution LCD screen on these recorders.When the time comes to mix down your tunes, you can automate many mixer events (like panning) with the simple touch of a button. There are even 100 scene memories, which can help to create the perfect mixdown. Once your recordings are perfect, you can use the built-in CD-RW to burn your own CD. There are even modes, called Master Track and Album CD Project, that will make CD creation easy by walking you through the entire process.The Korg D3200 also has shuffle and harmonize settings that allow the user to create subtle variations in timing, accent, feel, and volume. This recorder features a number of editing functions, including time expansion and compression, reverse, fade, and normalize. It even gives you the ability to do manual punch-ins to fix errors. Recordings can be edited without reducing their quality. If you require more room for storing tracks than the 80GB of internal memory provides, there is a PC drive partition on the unit's hard drive that will let you share data with your computer. Upgrading to D3200 from D1600
I have been using a Korg D1600 for 20 years. I recorded over a dozen albums and hundreds of demos and video soundtracks on it. Unfortunately, it is physically wearing out. The D3200 is similar in basic operation but laid out a little differently, so it's taking me a little time to get as comfortable as I was on the old machine. Still, it has all the advantages I prefer over a computer DAW -the all-in-one nature, the fact that it never needs to be upgraded, lack of compatibility issues, supreme portability, the one-time investment, wealth of features. When I got this D3200 in the mail delivery, I quickly checked out it's inputs & outputs, & found that the cd tray drawer does not open, even after turning the recorder off & on several times, it's a good looking machine, but without the cd compartment working it totally went from my hero to a zero, sorry for my honesty, but I must give it a non favorites rating of 1 star, thanks, & stay safe.Verified purchase: YesCondition: Pre-owned
