    Excellent gameplay, mechanics, and ecosystems.

I played the game when it was in Beta, I fell in love with it then. The living breathing ecosystem. The coop system so can play with other people online. The monsters are never one and the same very unique. Mounting mechanic is fun, and satisfying when you successfully cripple it so you damage it some more. I like that you can capture the monsters too, so you can unlock a special quest for that monster, where you can fight the monster in an arena. Saves you from chasing it all over the other maps. I like that there is so many weapon types so you can test them all out and see which one you like using so you can forge better one once start collecting materials from the monsters. There is a bit of grinding in this part of the game. Its tedious and rewarding at the same time. I found it helps you learn more about the monsters mechanics, and with enough research find it weaknesses. It's exciting hen you finally got the materials you need especially when it's a rare drop. This game fun for me, it may also not be for everyone. I

Looks cool, but really meant for little kids

The preview looked cool. Playing the game is a different thing. It seems more geared for very little kids. I mean what's the deal with the super cute oversized pupil eyed cats dressed in human clothes following you everywhere in a 'monster battle game'???

  • Tons of grinding, rewarding combat

The one thing I’ll say about this game is it’s actually fun. The mechanics and the combat are very compelling and competitive. Plus there’s around 14 different weapons to play around with. The story is a little lacking, but it’s not lacking in content or on love from the developers. I’ve put around 30 or so hours in so far and I can see how you could put 100’s of hours in. If you’ve been on the fence and love getting new gear and weapons and abilities, I’d recommend it, I love picking it up and doing a quest or an expedition and then doing whatever. It’s fun to play on a daily basis, and not just binged on like many others. (Animal crossing etc..) It’s possible the story gets better, I just haven’t finished much. There’s even a new expansion in the works that looks to add a ton of new content. It’s not a hard game, but it’s very detailed in that you have to pay attention. as far as I’m concerned I have have a new game to rotate with the Witcher 3: Wild Hunt! Overall 5/5

  • YOU'LL SEE AMAZING PLACES, BATTLE INCREDIBLE CREATUES AND WONKY MENUS.

I'm not the biggest fan of the Monster Hunter series but I've been hearing good things about the new game and wanted to give it a try. Turns out there are valid reasons for both me not liking the series and the game getting great reviews. It really is a stunning world, amazing creatures brought to life by their surroundings and behaviors. Colorful vistas and challenging battles are the highlights. Graphically, it's smooth as butter, with HD settings and the ability to choose frame rate or eye candy. And the battles against fierce monsters really are amazing and varied! Unfortunately for me - it's still a game hindered by confusing menus and very limited solo player game play. It's possible to play alone but not easy. Maybe that's not a negative? I'm only a few hours in and I admit I'm hooked on the world. But I doubt I'll ever see the end of the game.

  • One of the best giant monster slaying games to date. Definitely recommended.

Excellent game with great replay value, simply due to the diversity of weapons, armors, and monsters. The mechanics leave little to be desired, the combat is smooth and fast, and the weapons & armor are all very high quality. The story itself is nothing remarkable, but the real fun is in the killing of huge beasts and building your arsenal from their parts. It is definitely a good place to jump into the series, being unlike almost every other Monster Hunter game.

  • Disclosure: I got a free cat in my game?

It's got monsters in it. You can fight em. There uh. I guess there are weapons? There's a big bagpipe you can hit the big dragons with. You get a free cat. It throws big health bugs at you sometimes. You can dress it up in cute little outfits. I like how the game doesn't tell you how to use your hookshot. Builds character.

  • Play it.

Super fun, challenging game. The Multiplayer aspect could be better when playing with friends, but it is not enough of a hassle that it should stop you from playing with your buddies. The overall controls of the game can be a little clunky yet they feel oddly nostalgic.

  • Playing it for a while

Monster hunter is overwhelmingly at first. It reminds me of dark souls a bit because of how rewarding it is to defeat a boss by studying your enemy. You have to consider many conditions like whether they are affected by fire, ice, water etc. Open world game with so much to do. At first you don't get it

  • Fantastic

I personally already own the game but I bought the copy for my brother and he loves it. The older got here fast as well and the disc WASN'T bouncing around in the case when I received it.
