"Hard to tell the Good from Bad"
Amazing series, very entertaining, so much so that I could hardly stop watching...one more episode, one more episode! Was actually watching this series online when it stopped at Episode 4 and thought maybe I would like to see it all again...so many details one misses the first time around. Pure genius and the character development is so calculated that the viewer is on a rollercoaster ride as to who is about to do what. Highly recommended if you can accept violence and related gory surprises. These are gangsters, remember!

Look at all disk as soon as it arrives.
The series of DVDs being described as brand-new came packaged with the normal shrink wrap a new movie would. So I didn't check every season every desk upon purchase an opening box. However once I did start watching the series I'm only into the third season and I've had two disk that had very deep scratches that calls the disk to skip a large portion of that disc

I was very happy and excited for this purchase, on one disk there was a significant scratch on it that I assume happened in manufacturing because the product was brand new, and sealed. I am happy with my product but I'm sad that one disc was damaged. But overall I'm happy

We only do off-air TV, so had not seen this but loved Michael K Williams in The Wire, which we also have, and when he suddenly passed away I read what else he had been in and acquired several of them. With Steve Buscemi and Kelly McDonald too, how can you go wrong? We are into season 2 now and very curious to see where it all goes. Very entertained and look forward to watching another episode each night, so quite happy with the purchase which arrived as advertised. Thank you!

Boardwalk Empire so far
I've watched the first season of BE and am into season two. I was looking for something to binge watch, not too unlike "The Sopranos," which I love. Boardwalk sometimes comes close thanks to Steve Buscemi and a few other choice characters, great actors all. But the series is stylized in the Roaring 20s, and to me it suffers a bit at times in the producer's attempts, though mostly good, to sustain a complete sense of believability. The Sopranos never had this problem. Yet, despite a few characters who already bore me, I look forward to my next watch, and think that if you're a "Godfather-type" fan of this type of earthy, sometimes bloody and violent entertainment, you'll like Boardwalk Empire.

Without question, the quality of this amazing slice of America life in the early part of the 20th Century is fantastic. Sadly only five seasons to enjoy. Production values, ie: Sets, period wardrobe, exceptional casting, writing, etc. All add up to a quality product. Don't miss it.

Well done gangster period drama based partially on true historic figures
This gangster HBO series is so well done. The attire, mannerisms, dialogue, and amazing accurate sets for the period lends this series top score. Some of the gangsters are based on true actual historic characters. The only down side is how the ending unfolds with the main character which was not true to history. Great box set of the entire series which is a must for those whom appreciate the twenties gangster period. Like taking a travel back in time to experience in person the actual “Roaring Twenties”.

Boardwalk Empire Rocks
Always loved the series. One of the top docu-drama's ever made, if you take all the historical characters in it and the great writing team headed by Terrance Winter (Sopranos). Wanted to binge it all again with my wife who never saw it. The only comments I would make is that the non-blue ray version has some resolution issues on my 65 inch HD TV. If you have a large screen, be sure to get the blue ray version. Also, the packaging is very minimalist...not many references or lists on it, but thats a nit.
