NotesDeluxe two CD edition featuring the new stereo album mix on the first CD and adds a second CD of 18 tracks, including previously unreleased alternate takes of each of the album's 13 songs, newly mixed in stereo and sequenced in the same order as the album. The second CD also includes a new stereo mix and a previously unreleased instrumental take of 'Penny Lane,' and the 2015 stereo mix and two previously unreleased alternate takes of 'Strawberry Fields Forever.' 2017 release, the 50th Anniversary remixed and remastered edition of one of rock music's most influential albums. The album is newly mixed by Giles Martin and engineer Sam Okell in stereo, sourced directly from the four-track masters at Abbey Road Studios in London, and guided by the original, Beatles-preferred mono mix produced by his father, George Martin. It was 50 years ago when The Beatles' John Lennon, Paul McCartney, George Harrison, and Ringo Starr astonished and delighted the world, ushering in the Summer of Love with Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band, a groundbreaking masterwork that became popular music's most universally acclaimed album.

  • A Sonic Wonder - Amazing

I had feared that Remixing of this Iconic Album would somehow damage the magical, complex sound that the Beatles created in that summer of 1967. I have heard other remixes on legendary albums that, in fact, tinkered with something that should have been left as is. This Remix is an exception...Giles Martin is a genius. This mix gives the best of both the MONO and STEREO remasters issued over the years. - I have always favored the MONO mix on many of the tracks, as it had more Punch - and actually more detail Much of the STEREO was lacking this detail and sounded washed out.. On this new Remix Ringo's drumming is brought forward along with Paul's base lines. Just listen the The Drum intro on Sgt Pepper's reprise, Or Ringo's drum solo in A Little Help!! Wow! Vocals have bee moved to the middle - everything has more depth....Having said that - you may want to back off the volume as this is loud...I do believe that the Guitars in The Opening track are slightly "Bright"...However this is a minor issue...Overall I am still in awe...Fab, Fab, Fab!!!!

  • It was twenty years ago today.......I wish......

Not much much to be said about how much better this cd sounds than the 2009 remaster, because they sound about the same to me, excellent. But, I can hear some items of the recording more than I could before and some a little less. I guess due to the remixing, again, certain tracks stand out more and some less. This is coming from a Beatle fan that never heard a stereo version until 1974! Mono was king and that is all I had. Needless to say, it was like listening to a Brand New Album! If you are not a Beatle fan, whether from 1964 until now, their music transcends time. Sgt. Pepper's is not my favorite Beatle album, but the listening experience in 1967, even on mono, was what music quality had to become for all bands or fade away. Listen in a very dark room, with no distractions, on a clean, loud system and you will see what it was all about in the Summer of 1967. Many of us wish we could still be there! PS....Giles Martin DID NOT leave the alarm clock ring out of 'A Day In The Life' as as earlier reviewer said.

  • Sgt. Pepper 50th

The 2 CD version, with the included booklet, is worth the price for the booklet alone. I've owned this material in both mono and stereo on both the original vinyl albums as well as the boxed set CD mono version sporting the original Parlophone labels. And most, if not all, of the supplemental material outtakes on Disc 2 have also been been available for years on bootleg vinyl and bootleg CDs. But, again, the included booklet in the Deluxe 2-CD version is what prompted me to buy Sgt. Pepper again.

  • Sgt. Pepper Sounds Great in Real Stereo

I never knew it but Sgt. Pepper wasn't pure stereo. I bought the album like everybody else, but never realized it was mono. Over the years, its been replaced, but always mono. Now, it's stereo. It also has a very clear sound. There are other albums, I would like them to redo as well. I would love to hear the Medly like that.

  • Back in time

It's like walk back in time but with terrific sound. The Beatles were great now the sound matches the greatness of the music. I would tell any Beatle fan to get a Ticket to ride then get on board and enjoy the music the way it should have been!!!

  • Great album from 1967.

This remix was done right. From the notes of Sir George Martin (Beatles producer), Giles Martin (his son) meticulously worked from the studio multi-tracks to fix the stereo field. For instance, moving in the instruments (or vocals) from a single channel to within the stereo field. When you bought this in 1967 one bought it for the whole album.

  • Disappointed

Giles Martin , In Re- Mixing The Album, Left out 1 Important thing. In the Transition on A Day In The Life, From John's part to Paul's , HE LEFT OUT THE ALARM CLOCK!!!! A most important part to divide the 2 parts! HOW COULD HE POSSIBLY MISS THIS??? Sorry Giles, you blew it, for me any way . R. Gann
