Great sound just small cups for larger ears.

I own a couple pairs of Sennheiser headphones already that are wired. HD 380 pro and HD 800. Large ear openings and comfortable to wear for hours. The HD1 have excellent sound quality but the ear opening is quite a bit smaller and sits on top of my ear pressing it against my head. While the foam is very soft the pinch isn’t comfortable after about 30 minutes especially if moving around which also allows the cans to move off my ear a bit. Looked at Bose 35 and Sony wh-1000xm3. My ear fit completely inside both cups comfortably and they stayed sealed to head for effective noise cancelling. Purchased the Sony xm3 as I like the touch features and app is great for adjusting noise cancelling, equalizer setting for different type music and the sound quality is on par with HD1 and 35 for a Bluetooth set.

Good Headphones, but not that impressed yet

Good headphones, but the sound is a little too bright. I am hoping after a few hundred hours of burn-in that they will sound better. Honestly, I feel like my old Bose QC 3’s sound better right now - and have a firmer grip on my ears. I’ll give it some time though, and will compare again in a couple months.

  • Great but could be more comfortable.

Got about 3 days of use with these. I'm a landscaper and cut grass 10hrs a day. I'm constantly adjusting these because they're not as comfortable as my old 630vb(best headphones I've ever owned). The cans should be a bit bigger... These will probably be better for people with smaller ears. Overall great for the price. Better sound quality than I expected for the price.

  • Sweet headphones

These were $500 when they came out, got them “open box” for $240...they’re awesome. The blue tooth gets a little choppy once in a blue moon, but I wear these things during my NYC commute every day and they’re perfect for me. Better than the Sennheiser HD4.4 and the Beats Studio Wireless, I’ve owned both.

  • The good, and not so good....

The good....great sound quality, ease of use, and simple, clean workmanship. The not so good...very heavy on your head, not to be worn for long periods of time without some discomfort from weight of headphones. It's a great quality product, but a bit on the heavy side, for headphones..

  • Perfect solution for all purpose headphones / headset.

Awesome headphones! Excelent sound. Very good mic quality. Descent noise cancellation. Flawless construction and feeling when in use. If you are out of battery, or using a computer without Bluetooth, the HD1's can be used as headset, connected by USB (while charging). I really recommend this one!

  • Audiophile headphones for a bargain price

I am so glad I finally bought the wireless version of these. The noise cancellation is just the right amount, not so much like you put your head in a jar. Nice to be able to pair them from the NFC chip, and also to have hooked up to my PC and my phone at same time.

  • Better than beats

I had always loved Sennheiser but the price was always a little high. I was considering a pair of beats studios when I found the HD1’s at an amazing price and jumped on it. They blew the beats out of the water in both sound, comfort and noise cancelation. They came like a brand new pair with no signs of wear that I could see. Definitely a great purchase.

  • Sennheiser HD1 Review

These headphones have a good sound, a good battery life and excellent noise cancellation. They are light weight and easy to agjust so you can wear them for long periods. I would describe the sound quality as very good.
