    Good Filter

    Have only been using the filter for 2 to 3 weeks. It is quiet, much better than Tetra above water model. I only have a 10gal. tank. Not as yet sure how well the filter works comparably. Need to give it more time. One thing noticed is when feeding, the flakes don't quickly sink into the water and immediately sink to the bottom of the tank or get sucked up like the above-water filter. The flakes will hang around on top of the water for several minutes and thus allowing them greater time to eat. I believe that's due to less to no surface agitation of the water when using the below-water filter. With that all said, there is one con I experienced. The impeller was stuck so no water was passing through the filter. I had to remove the bottom of the filter (it's a snap fit - not screws. Larger units may use screws) and manually turn the impeller a couple of times. Once freed up there have been no problems.

    Don't get the small size, get the larger one. It will last longer.

    I bought 4. One lasted 5 days, the 2nd one 2 weeks. The last 2 are still working, so far. This is a good brand that I have many of, but in the 20 to 40 gal. size.

    GOOD FILTER

    I have been using this filter for 3 years now. It lasts for at least a year-------sometimes longer and it does the job of keeping the tank clean. I buy a new one every year just because I like to but there is no point spending a ton of money on a filter when you can pick this one up cheap -----but the filter itself is not cheap at all---most important-------it does the job! The replacement filters that you change every month are also very inexpensive. Overall great purchase!

    Tetra Whisper Internal filter for tanks up to ten gallons is one of the best filters you can buy. I highly recommend it!

    I love this little Whisper internal filter byTetra. It's very quiet, occupies very little space in your tank and does a great job of keeping the aquarium water clean and clear. Plus, the flow coming from the filter into the aquarium is not harsh so it's great for bettas. I have this filter on each of my twelve 5.5 gallon aquariums which is home to a single betta, live plants, and Mopani wood. I highly recommend this filter for anyone keeping small tanks up to ten gallons, and I especially recommend this filter for fish such as bettas.

    Due to me having a wild minnow in my 10 gallon fish tank I thought it would need a stronger filter cuz I plan on getting more minnows but it's awesome easy to set up and is quite and definitely worth the money

    JUST RECEIVED THESE FILTERS

    I just received these filters yesterday and cannot believe the difference in my tank. I have a divided aquarium with two Betas and could not keep the water clear with the sponge filters. I sit and watch these filters working - I keep stirring up the gravel and watch as the filters are working. I believe you need two filters in a divided tank as the (stuff) it filters out is to big to get through the holes in the divider. Anyway it looks like I finally found the right filter. I also like that I can call Tetra at any time with any question I may have. Thanks Carol
